These players had previously tasted victory as a mixed roster known as the “Lobster Fishers.”

Rather than placing the burden of choosing between organizations on their players, Shopify and Moist Esports opted for a visionary path. Together, they conceived MxS, an entirely new entity designed to encompass the extraordinary talents of these players. Ahgren emphasized that MxS represents a collaborative venture between the two organizations, with Shopify’s financial support bolstering Ahgren’s vision for the roster.

The Ambitious Ascent

Ahgren outlined MxS’s ambitious goals with unequivocal determination: to secure victory in NA Challengers, ascend to the prestigious VCT Americas, and establish unassailable dominance within that realm. Notably, Ahgren and MxS harbor aspirations to challenge Riot Games’ VCT promotion system, which currently grants promoted teams a two-season tenure in the top-tier league. 

Ahgren contends that the existing system warrants reevaluation, and MxS seeks to exert pressure on Riot Games by becoming an indisputable powerhouse in VCT Americas. The potential popularity and triumph of MxS could compel Riot Games to reevaluate its promotion structure.

Ahgren elaborated on this audacious objective: “Our goals are to win Ascension, become a tier one team, perform at such an exceptional level in tier one that they cannot relegate us, and ultimately craft the most formidable team in North America.”

A Bold Announcement

The revelation of this groundbreaking partnership closely followed another momentous announcement: Shopify Rebellion’s entry into the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) by acquiring TSM’s slot in the North American League of Legends league. 

In addition to their presence in League of Legends and VALORANT, Rebellion boasts teams in Dota 2, Halo, Rocket League, and StarCraft. Moist Esports, on the other hand, has a presence in Super Smash Bros, Apex Legends, and Rocket League, making this collaboration a convergence of multiple esports disciplines.

The partnership between Moist Esports and Shopify Rebellion signifies a bold stride toward creating an indomitable force in the realm of VALORANT.
