Diablo IV: Is The Game-Taking Religious Activity Or Children’s Mentality Too Far?

1 years ago By AI Smith

We are in 2023, and the gaming industry has become something like the target of those who, eaten away by their prejudices, have decided that we are their main target as it seems so. For years, the gamers have witnessed how, actively and passively, we were blamed for a lot of nonsense without a head or tail. And while it may seem like a thing of the past, it’s as recent as Diablo 4. Yes, the new Blizzard game has become the subject of controversy for the same old thing.

The story is funny. A group of parents, grandmothers, neighbours, etc. has lodged several complaints after reading a billboard reading ” Welcome to Hell, Melbourne ” which he deemed not only “disgusting” but also an ” inappropriate reference for your children to view”. As we said, it’s the same old story. Because, although it is clear that Diablo is built around Christian mythology – to a large extent – the shots do not go that way.

It’s about something else. If they were worried about children, they wouldn’t care about Diablo, because they would know —perfectly— that their children are not playing this, but rather GTA V, League Of Legends, FIFA, Call of Duty or Fortnite. In reality, these types of complaints are not intended to defend the little ones, but to criticize what they do not understand because they do not feel like it. Talking about your children, or that they have hurt your religious sensibilities, is the easy way to say “We don’t want to understand what this is, so we’ll criticize it in the easiest way we can find.”

You worry about kids over a Diablo IV fence when our greatest wish is to find cows

It’s funny that they say they haven’t thought about children because of a fence in Diablo IV when, in reality, the objective of the game is to become the kind of mathematician who only thinks about how to optimize his doll in a fantasy world. Come on, as far as we know the most brutal thing that has happened is that a handful of fans have gathered on Discord to find the legendary level of the cows. A terrible example for kids.

Thus, this type of news in which a group of parents, religious, etc. become protagonists because they have found something that offends them, they ‘bore’ me. And not because I think it’s more or less interesting, but because they use the same uncompromising excuses as always. They hide behind children to defenestrate and condemn what they don’t like. The children have nothing to do with it, because, probably, if they have seen the billboard, they will have forgotten about it after five minutes while scrolling on their mobile phones.

Glitches In Diablo IV

Not content with expressing their disagreement on religious grounds, they made such bland arguments as that their children were having nightmares because of the fence and that it was offensive to their beliefs. Your son will have nightmares about seeing a drawing on a billboard, but not with that other one in which the current adult movie is advertised.

Nobody thinks about the children, but that they don’t like it, so it’s evil

It is not the first time it happens. The Binding of Isaac was not only sued by various groups and individuals of the Christian religion for being offensive. With Doom, more of the same. There are many examples, but we doubt they were thinking of young gamers. They thought of themselves and that they didn’t like it. That they didn’t want to try to understand it.

Without further ado, we doubt very much that anyone is going to have nightmares from having seen a Diablo billboard where, if you misunderstand everything, you can understand that Melbourne is hell. We doubt that a child stops to look for that type of analogy and has stopped to think that that lady with horns has come for him. Most likely they didn’t give it any importance.

What’s more, We would bet anything that they knew it was a game that was about to come out, but that their parents turned a deaf ear and exacerbated their hatred, their intransigence, and their lack of empathy with a term that is already even a meme. But is it that nobody thinks about children?
