Naoki Yoshida: Square Enix didn’t have enough time to prepare the PC version for FF XVI

1 years ago By AI Smith

Naoki Yoshida, the producer of the 16th final fantasy, says that the PC version has not been released alongside the PS5 version due to the team not having the time to optimize it.

Final Fantasy XVI will land exclusively for PlayStation 5 on June 22, although Square Enix’s initial plan was none other than to launch the version for computers on the same day.

As revealed by the 50-year-old Yoshi-P, producer of Final Fantasy 16, the team behind the title had in mind that the port for PC would be released at the same time as the version for the Sony console, but that this had to be delayed for reasons of time. Of course, it makes it clear that the port will arrive at some point and that it will be worked “carefully”.

Although Yoshida has not specified when the PC version will be released, the team is working on optimizing it so that it will “load smoothly” and work properly. As we said, the reason why the port has not been released together with the PS5 version is that those responsible did not have time to get it ready.

The return through the front door of a legendary saga

Final Fantasy XVI has everything to turn the series back into the mainstream phenomenon it became during the PlayStation era. The clearly Game of Thrones- inspired tone fits the bill perfectly and will appeal to many who have never played the game before RPG”.

The commitment to action translates into a spectacular fighting system that promises to have a lot of depth and also plays in favour of attracting a more global audience who likes to see action. But we believe that the key if it is maintained in the complete title, is the rhythm, an emotional roller coaster in which events do not stop happening that leaves us speechless “, we conclude in our complete impressions.
