What is the New Game+ mode in Final Fantasy XVI?

1 years ago By AI Smith

Hiroshi Takai and Ryota Suzuki, director and combat director respectively, reveal the adversaries that we will be able to face in the New Game+ mode of Final Fantasy XVI.

Square Enix detailed yesterday that Final Fantasy XVI includes a basic New Game+ mode that will allow all those players who have completed the main story for the first time to access a more difficult mode and face new dangers, all of this, of course, while preserving progress, possessions and abilities from the previous game. In a new video posted via IGN, Hiroshi Takai and Ryota Suzuki, director and combat director respectively, have shown off some of the enemies players will be able to face in New Game+ mode.

In New Game+ we can find different enemies depending on the location. For example, in The Greatwood, we find an Aevis Dragon in the first game, but in the Final Fantasy difficulty mode, the most difficult in the game, it is replaced by a Chimera. Similarly, in a later area, the Ironblood Fanatic enemy is replaced with an Iron Giant. All the abilities of the eikon (invocations) are maintained to balance the scales, but the challenges will not be more affordable for this.

The return through the front door of a legendary saga

“Final Fantasy XVI has everything to turn the series back into the mainstream phenomenon it became during the PlayStation era. The clearly Game of Thrones- inspired tone fits the bill perfectly and will appeal to many who have never played the game before RPG”.

The commitment to action translates into a spectacular fighting system that promises to have a lot of depth and also plays in favour of attracting a more global audience who likes to see action. But we believe that the key if it is maintained in the complete title, is the rhythm, an emotional roller coaster in which events do not stop happening that leaves us speechless”, we conclude in our complete impressions.

Final Fantasy XVI was going to be released on two discs

Yoshida has also revealed that Final Fantasy 16 was going to be published on two discs, but six months before the launch, the development team thought that they would be able to publish it on only one, and with effort, they succeeded, they report in Gematsu. Finally, a trailer with a painting style that you can see below has also been published in the digital event.

FF XVI will launch on PS5 next Friday, June 22. The standard edition price of the game is $70. Some physical copies are circulating, so we recommend you be careful in social networks and forums with plot spoilers; Square Enix is investigating how this happened and will try to remove any screenshots or videos posted online.
